Very different to the Oaxaca, Derrumbes Michoacan is initially more subtle. Fresh on the nose, you find notes of green apple and runner beans before more perfumed, floral notes appear. These more delicate aromas give way to a pungent sweetness, ripe pears, and notes of pine and a hint of smokiness.
On the palate, you initially detect sweet characters, parma violets and honey but these are soon overpowered by a dry spiciness fostered by a stringent smoky character.
On the finish, the dryness eventually gives way to a more sweet character that leaves a very pleasant mouthfeel...... (more)
